FOTD: Inglot purples

I used the 4-pan INGLOT palette that my sister got me from Las Vegas for this look.  I still can't get over how I"m supposed to be the artistic one in the family and yet I pick out scattered brain colors for my own palette which don't go together at all, yet Carmen picks out a bomb set of colors that go well with each other.  My looks always end up a little bit more dramatic than I intend for them to be, but that's okay because I have no problem wearing this to class (which I did!).

This pic is from an old haul which is why the mascara was pictured.  I used all the colors except for the sparkly magenta on the bottom corner.

Face:
-CVS  Daily Moisturizer SPF 45 (probably the reason why my face seems lighter than my neck lol)
-Smashbox Healthy FX Foundation in Light 3
-Cover FX Setting Powder in Light
-NYC Matte Bronzer in Sunny
-NARS Blush in Deep Throat
-Stila Illuminating Powder in Gold

Eyes:
-UDPP
-INGLOT e/s in 440P, DS 482, 420P
-Lancome e/s in After Dusk
-Too Faced e/s in Heaven
-L'oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner
-UD 24/7 Liner in Zero
-L'oreal Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara

Lips:
-Quo l/g in Pout

On a random note, I'm eating a box of blueberries a day because they're on sale at Safeway.  My bowels are happy.

Thanks for tuning in!

February 2011 Favorites

Not too many  products this month mainly because I never seem to have time for it!  I don't know how those super busy mamas do it but maaannnn I guess I tend to value my sleep more.  I have finals next month so I will probably only have a handful or products that month too.  Oh poop.  School is never going to end =(  Especially since I'm going to be a teacher. HAHAHAHAHA....I'm so tired.

On to the products!

1. Essie nail polish in Coat Azure.  Love how smooth and strong this formula is.  I love the color even more because it's just so happy and bright without blinding your eyeballs out and turning them into mush.  I wanted to wear it again after it started chipping and I removed the polish but I forced myself to experience the other lonely nail polishes in my collection.

2. MAC Viva Glam V Lipstick.  The ultimate swipe-on-them-lips-run-out-the-door-looking-like-a-hot-mama lipstick.  Sheer enough so your lips don't look like they changed to a different color yet dark enough to add color into your life.  Goes well with pretty much any look.

3. Sigma F05 Small Contour Brush.  Now I know why my contouring always looked like crap.  Because I didn't have the proper brush.  This baby is small, dense, and gets that bronzer on exactly where you want it.

4. INGLOT Volume & Waterproof mascara.  Looks like a boring long stick but this stuff lengthens and hold my curls like no other.  Not TERRIBLY voluminizing but not bad at all.  For $10 USD a pop, I  would totally repurchase this bad boy.

Save me from these papers T_____________T

FOTD: Getting Naked

I purchased a crapload of Naked mineral pigments over a year ago because there was an awesome deal on them.  Unfortunately, I'm still a newbie when it comes to using loose eyeshadows so I haven't really been using them too much.  As a matter of fact, today is the first time that I'm using them for a look (shame on me!).  Using these guys has really been an experience, because they're all so shimmery and i have to really blend them out for the glittery to go away.  I've also been experimenting with wetting eyeshadows and leaving them dry....and I made a messy.  If you don't get it right, the eyeshadow gets all clumpy and impossible to blend out.  I did succeed, however, in creating a look that I'm happy with, regardless that the two eyes don't match.

Face:
-Moisturizer
-Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base
-Smashbox Foundation Light 3
-Cover FX Setting Powder in Light
-NYC Matte Bronzer in Sunny
-NARS Blush in Oasis
-Stila Illuminating Powder in Gold
-NARS Multiple in Copacabana

Eyes:
-UDPP
-MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
-Naked e/s in Blushing Bronze #6, Mother Nature #5, Naturally Nude #5, Blushing Bronze #1
-Too Faced e/s in Heaven
-Stila Smudgepot in Black
-INGLOT waterproof mascara

Lips:
-EOS Lip Balm
-Maybelline l/s in On the Mauve
-Sephora l/g in Bronzed Beauty

I rarely (more like never) use pink eyeshadow.  Tried it once using for a muted pink and brown look and it was definitely not cute.  However, I think I have found a better way to break into pink and hope to use it a lot more often.

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Now I know why everyone takes pictures in the bathroom.  The lighting is so much better!

Why do I look so stupid in the video thumbnail? Haha.

Anyways, if you guys check out the March edition of Cosmopolitan magazine, there are foundation samples for every shade of Maybelline's new foundation.  You can also find coupons for the new products, which include $1 off if you purchase the foundation, and $3 off if you purchase any two Fit Me products.  Considering the magazine is only $4, I think it's worth it.  Cosmo mag also has lots of entertaining articles, beauty tips, and other girly stuff.  If you're under 16 you may have to hide it from your folks though, cause the word "sex" is pretty much stamped all over the cover.  Anyways, check it out!

FOTD: Random Undefined Inglot Look

I am very scattered brain at times and it definitely shows in my Inglot palette.  I opted for colors that I did not have, and ended up with a bunch of colors that I couldn't really use together.  Nonetheless, I accepted this as a challenge.  The look you see below consists of mostly Inglot eyeshadows, but I did have to use a highlighter shade from another brand.

Face:
-Smashbox Foundation in L3
-Cover FX Setting Powder in Light
-MAC Blush in Blushbaby
-Hardcandy Blush in Living Doll
-NYC Matte Bronzer

Eyes:
-UDPP
-INGLOT e/s in 420P, 399P, AMC 63, & 409P
-Too Faced e/s in Heaven
-Rimmel Kohl Pencil in Grey
-L'oreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara

Lips:
-MAC l/s in Hot Gossip
-Stila l/s in Kitten

I'm having some serious issues with my camera.  No matter what setting it on, I can't take pictures of my makeup upclose or it'll just be completely white.  Any tips?

Anyways, thanks for stopping by!

Take a Tour Inside INGLOT With Me!

So this post is loooong due, but 2 months ago I visited INGLOT inside Place Montreal Trust.  I was able to obtain permission to take pictures and record videos for my blog there, which is something I have been planning ever since I first planned my trip to Montreal (from California) around August 2010.  Imagine how infuriated I was when all the big Youtube gurus started raving about INGLOT.  The last thing I wanted to do was look like a copycat, but I have wonderful information and footage to share with everyone, and I'm not going to waste it.

Outside Inglot.  My heart was beating fast =)

Their infamous Freedom System.  The prices for these palettes and the refill eyeshadows in Canadian stories are about 2x more expensive than the stores in U.S.A.  I was lucky that there was a promotion going on, even though it still cost more than a 10 pan palette would in the U.S.

Glorious options for the Freedom palettes.  Blushes, bronzers, Face powders, concealers, lipsticks, and of course, EYESHADOWS (in square and round pans).  You can also see a very wide variety of nail polishes, which is what the company first started out with.

Me picking colors for my palette =)

I only let myself get one palette, so I swatched the crap out of all the colors to make sure I was choosing the ones I wanted for certain.

Loose eyeshadows and eyeshadow singles.

Lipsticks and glosses galore.  I love the lipsticks and totally regret not picking up some lipglosses.

Inglot Matte collection.  Everything from gel liners, lipsticks, eyeshadows, nail polishes....
The Inglot Elite Card.  Pay $10 for a one year membership, and receive 10% off all regularly priced items.

Well, that's all for now folks.  Hopefully this was informative and helped you guys see what the company has to offer a little bit better.  I do have a number of items to review, and I will do my very best to get those out.  Unfortunately, these couple of months will be very difficult and hectic months for me so please be patient.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by my blog.  I hope to see you again here soon!

NOTD: Ki by Zoya

I'll be honest.  This is a bit of a filler post, because the one that I was originally going to post tonight is going through some technical difficulties.  My 13 minute video is probably going to take all night to upload, and I really want the blog post to supplement it so it will probably have to wait till tomorrow morning.  But trust me, it's worth it.

Anyways, this is an odd color.  Ki by Zoya, I don't know what possessed me to order this when I did but it sure is interesting.  I'm not sure I like it, since it's a bit similar to another Zoya polish that I own called Edyta.  Below, you'll see two coats of Ki without a base or top coat.  Check it out.

Without flash
See what I mean?  This is a crazy multichrome nail polish that can show up as either green or purple depending on the lighting.  You would think there were two different products featured in these two pictures.

Zoya describes this as  a complex multichromatic shade combining silver, purple, blue and green in a shimmery metallic finish. A unique shade for a truly fascinating nail look.

Color Family Purples

Finish Metallic

Intensity 4 ( 1=Sheer - 5=Opaque )

Tone Cool

Original Collection Suede

I must say, the green and purple is most dominant.  I can see a bit of silver but not so much the blue.  It's a nice funky color to wear, but I'm not sure if it's my cup of tea.  I'll probably throw this into my blog sale.

But hey, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this.  Hope you're all having a fantastic evening =)

Simple Eye Brightening Valentine's Day Tutorial

Hey everyone! I originally wanted to do some looks with all the pinks and purples and all that jazz, but I really wanted to share this look with you guys first.  It's pretty simple and somewhat subtle, and I like it because it just brings out the best of your features.  Gosh, I had so many Valentine's Day looks planned but this was the only one I could dish out before some stuff happened and I cried my eyes out for two days, so I couldn't film cause my eyes got really puffy.  Anyways, as of now things are okay but yeah....maybe I'll do a blog about it some other time.

On to the look!

And just for fun I thought I would try it with a red lip...

Kinda works yeah?  I just used one of Too Faced's vintage lipliners, although I can't remember the name of it.  It's like a mauve, almost red, with a slight gold sheen.

Face:
-Smashbox Foundation in Light 3
-Cover FX Setting Powder in Light
-NYC Matte Bronzer in Sunny
-Benefit Coralista Blush
-NARS Multiple in Copacabana

Eyes:

-Too Faced e/s in Cream
-UD 24/7 Liner in Zero
-L'oreal Extra-Collagen Mascara

Lips:
-MAC Viva Glam V
-Quo l/g in Pout

That's all for now folks.  I hope everyone gets tons of chocolate!

FOTD: Coat Azure

This is Coat Azure, one of the Essie polishes that I picked up at CVS last week.  This is my first experience with Essie polishes and it certainly does not disappoint.  Love how opaque and true the formula is.  It started chipping at around the third day, but I don't use a base or top coat.  So far, this brand seems to be the most resilient to chipping (out of the ones that I have tried).  If you don't know already, Essie is now being sold at Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS for $8 a pop.  Walmart exploits people so I encourage you pick your poison at either Walgreens or CVS.

Have a great day!

FOTD 2/8/2011

Blog Sale Preview ;D

Hellooooo everybody!

I will be having a MASSIVE, and I mean MASSIVEEEE blog sale coming up as soon as I figure out how to work paypal and pick up some shipping supplies.  I want to launch it as soon as possible but school (as usual!) is getting in my way.  Fie upon thee.  In any case, EVERYTHING has to go!  I do not want to be lugging these items home and to my new apartment when I move out of here, so please please please take a look and help me out!

The products are mostly used, but there are many unused products.  The products that I have used have been used very lightly.  Almost none of the products have dents in them.  They are an assortment of high and low end items, and so far the majority seem to be high end products.  A good number of these items are also limited edition or have been discontinued, so it may be your last chance to grab some of these.  Here are some of the items:

To see all the products that are currently up, please go to here (http://jannysblogsale.blogspot.com/).  Again, this is a preview, so no transactions will be made at this time.  There will be lots more items being added in the near future.

P.S.  I will also be having a giveaway soon......
