MUFE LA Haul

Hey everyone!

I hope you guys enjoyed my last post, which was a picture tour of the Makeup Forever Boutique in Los Angeles, California.  Of course, I did some major damage here.  I entered the store knowing for certain that I wanted some brow gels and the gorgeous purple eyeshadow everyone in the online beauty community knows about.  But I definitely walked out with a lot more stuff.  Check it out!

First up, I got some brow gels for my kit.  I started doing more wedding makeup so I wanted something that was waterproof, long lasting, and natural.  I've also been curious about these for a while so I definitely intend on using these for myself as well.

L-R: 30, 25, 10 ($20 each)

I don't have a whole lot of lip liners, and again I wanted something waterproof and long lasting so I picked up a few colors that I thought I would get a lot of use from.  Forgive me for not photographing them properly.  I'll have to do a separate post on them.

10c, 14c, 19c, 16c ($19 each)

I went straight for the eyeshadows afterwards.  Besides the green and the purple, there weren't many that really caught my eye so I just went for some neutrals that I thought I would get a lot of use out of.

164, 76, 98, 19, 91, 92 ($15 each)

Even though I have a ton of empty Zpalettes, I wanted a proper MUFE case to house the eyeshadows in.

$21

Not particularly happy with this palette, as I found out it is NOT magnetized.  I'm not sure if I'l be keeping it.

Grabbed this MUFE Boutique exclusive little kit of shadow pencils for $38.  Great deal seeing as theese are $20 a piece.

$38

Last, but not least, I grabbed this handy dandy looking pouch.  It folds out and seems to hold a lot of stuff...I just haven't figured out what to put in it yet.

$19

I hope you guys enjoyed this post!  Let me know if you have any questions or comments about any of the above items!

Makeup Forever Boutique, Los Angeles (Picture heavy)

I went down to Los Angeles last month road tripping with friends.  I knew that one of the places I absolutely had to stop by was the Makeup Forever Boutique near West Hollywood.  Then, it was the closest MUFE boutique to my location in the San Francisco Bay Area.  A couple weeks ago, a new location opened in San Jose, and you bet your socks I'll be checking out that location too.

Anyways, I was too excited and enamored with all the products so I left the picture taking to my friend's boyfriend.  Next time I'll be sure to take pictures myself just so I know to categorize the different products.  Still, there are some good product pictures here that I'd like to share with everyone.

These Aqua Rouge lip stains launched a few weeks ago.  They're the kind of product where you stain your lips with color and then put a clear gloss over it.

I really wanted to get some lipsticks but I didn't find any colors that I didn't already have and wanted.  I did pick up a bunch of lip liners though.

My friend was shopping for a foundation so I was educating her about stuff, hahahaha.

Pencil eyeliners, liquid eyeliners, and eyeshadow pencils.  Don't you want them all?

Why hello there, eyeshadows......

Needless to say, I had a lot of fun.  My wallet cried for help that day though.  If you want to know what's in that humongous MUFE shopping bag, stay tuned!  That's coming up soon!

FOTD: Hopeless Romantic

I'm in so much of a makeup rut.  I have piles upon piles of makeup yet I have difficulty putting together color combinations.  This has to end!

I did throw together sort of a romantic look...for work.  Fitting, I know.  I just wanted to get some use out of my Too Faced SEXY palette that I acquired in a swap.  I was going for a more bold look but I had difficulty building up the shadows so it's much more subdued.

Face:
-Bare Minerals Prime Time
-MUFE HD Foundation in 123
-Eve Pearl HD Dual Foundation in Light
-Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff
-The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer
-NARS Blush in Deep Throat

Eyes:
-MAC Painterly paintpot
-Too Faced SEXY palette: Icon & Hopeless Romantic
-Lancome eyeshadow in After Dusk (LE)
-Too Faced eyeshadow in Heaven
-Urban Decay 24/7 Liners in Midnight Cowboy and Bourbon
-Inglot Gel Liner 77
-Cover Girl Lash Blast 24HR Mascara

Lips:

It always fascinates me how it there seems to be so much makeup up close but when you step back, the overall look is very natural.  Power of makeup, I tell ya.

FOTD: Flashback

Since I've purchased by last foundation, I have spent a whole lot of time in the sun: a week in Los Angeles, a day Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, a day in Davis, a day in wine country, and let's not even count the time I spend outside just because.  Needless to say, my complexion has gotten just a wee bit darker.  I thought I could still pull off using a lighter foundation by putting extra bronzer on....and obviously I was wrong.  This is what I get for not doing regular FOTD posts and seeing how my makeup really looks on camera.

Sorry for the lack of closeups.  I took some on my DSLR but the SD card got corrupted somehow and I lost a lot of pictures :(

What do you guys do when you find your foundation no longer matches you?

Sephora by OPI Polishes on sale in store and online!

Hey ladies and gents~

I popped into a nearby Sephora just to have a look and discovered OPI polishes on sale!  The Stoneridge location were selling them at 3 for $10.00!  That's even cheaper than what I get my polishes for at licensed professionals supply stores so I had to grab a few.  There was not a whole lot to pick, but I did manage to find 3 that I liked.

L-R: Shiny Dancer, It's Totally Karma, Is She for Reel?
As always, the names are a little silly but I can't wait to try them!  I checked the sale page on Sephora's website to see if more colors were available for the same price.  While they did have many more colors available, the individual polishes are being sold for $4.50 each.  If you're a penny pincher like me, I would stop by a few Sephora stores first before ordering online.

Let me know if you do pick some up!
