Be Religious With Your Sunscreen: Tips for staying protected

Want to get look old, crinkly, and spotted faster? Bake yourself outside and don't wear sunscreen! Hurray!

I'm just kidding, ok?

Before you put that sunblock away for the summer, hear me out!  Although the temperature has cooled down considerably in most places, make sure you continue to slather on sunscreen WHENEVER you plan to go out.  Cloudy days, snowy days, spaghetti and meatball days, if you plan on stepping outside, you will still be exposed to harmful UVA and UVB rays.  The damage done to your skin adds up over time so even if you're only going out for 15 minutes, stay protected.  I know we don't like the greasiness of most sunblock lotions so opt for moisturizers that are lightweight.  Personally, I prefer something light and non greasy to put under my foundation, so I grab a daily moisturizer with at least SPF 30 (SPF15+ recommended). Opting for a tinted moisturizer infused with SPF is a good way to go if you're short on time and want to stay protected, get some coverage, and run out the door in 45 seconds.  Don't forget to apply a lipbalm which also offers protection, and lotion with SPF or sunscreen anywhere else where skin is exposed!
