FOTD: Mmmm Purple

I don't do purple or pink looks very often.  When I use these colors, I like to throw them in with blues.  I figured it was about time I forced myself to do a girly girl purple look so I don't get too rusty.

How are you guys liking the pictures coming off my monster camera (Nikon D7000)?  I'm finally able to use it for my makeup looks cause I got a better fitted lens!  Only thing is, the flash kills the color.  In these pictures, the look is very soft and subdued but it was a full on smoky eye in person.  Even I felt a bit odd wearing this to work.

Swatches: Inglot Part II

It's that time again!  Here is another round of Inglot eyeshadow swatches.  My sister got this palette for me January 2010 on her last trip to Las Vegas.  She picked 4 colors within the same color family, which is pretty smart seeing as how my own scatter brain tends to pick colors from all over the place.

Swatches were done on bare skin with one swipe of the finger.  Pictures were taken in natural day light.

440P is a light, shimmery carnation pink.  It is definitely one of the least pigmented of the four.

D.S. 482 is a shimmery, deep blue purple.

AMC Shine 14 is a lovely blue based pink.

420 P is an interesting sort of metallic, purple-toned taupe.

I have to hand it to my sister, she had a pretty good eye for colors.  No bad eggs in this palette!

FOTD: Inglot purples

I used the 4-pan INGLOT palette that my sister got me from Las Vegas for this look.  I still can't get over how I"m supposed to be the artistic one in the family and yet I pick out scattered brain colors for my own palette which don't go together at all, yet Carmen picks out a bomb set of colors that go well with each other.  My looks always end up a little bit more dramatic than I intend for them to be, but that's okay because I have no problem wearing this to class (which I did!).

This pic is from an old haul which is why the mascara was pictured.  I used all the colors except for the sparkly magenta on the bottom corner.
