OCC Lip Tar in Narcissus

I've been spending all my blogging time on the Blog Everyday in May Challenge that I've been neglecting my blog for what I created it for: beauty.  I do apologize about that.

Now, normally I would consider this a FOTD post but I've had these pictures for so long that I actually can't remember what makeup products I used.  It's nothing special--just a daytime look with neutral shadows, winged eyeliner, and bright bright lips.

I remember spending the day at home with family when I did this look, so I had been searching for a neutral lipcolor to apply.  I also really wanted to use one of my lip tars because I have a pretty extensive collection and hardly give them any love.  For some odd reason, I thought Narcissus would be a good choice.

Or not.  It looks much more muted in these photos but I remember looking like Nicki Minaj in person.

Sorry for mugging you guys.  I am still taking pictures of myself in a mirror and trying to get used to my new camera.

Nonetheless, I really like this color!  I really want to wear it to work but the last time I wore a lip tar to work it bled outside my lips and I don't have the luxury of being able to touch it up.  Problematic.

Is this color up anyone else's alley?

FOTD: Urban Sunset

I have my coworker to thank for this name.  He told me he really liked my makeup and it reminded him of the sun setting over an urban neighborhood.  I suppose that's a good thing, eh?

FOTD: Black Dahlia

Whilst making Christmas cards one day, I got bored and whipped out OCC Liptar in Black Dahlia.  I tried it on, fell in love, and threw on the rest of my makeup for work later that evening.

I didn't have a chance to take pictures until after work, so I made an effort to touch up my makeup, including reapplying foundation where needed and touching up the liptar.  Black Dahlia was not particularly cooperative, as it clung on to the dead skin on my lips and refused to apply evenly.  Now, I've used liptars before and I don't recall them being this stubborn.  Nonetheless, I love the color and decided to share with you guys.

Eyes:
-UDPP in Sin
-Too Faced Natural Eyeshadow Palette: Heaven, Sexpresso, Pushup, and Silk Teddy
-Inglot Gel Liner in 77
-CoverGirl Waterproof Lashblast Volume Mascara

Face:

-Lancome Teint Idole Bisque 4 Foundation
-Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
-NARS Laguna Bronzer
-Illamasqua Blusher in Thrust

Like I said before, I really love this color.  I'll wear it a few more times and see if I can get it to work.

OCC & Sephora VIB NARS Haul

It hasn't been officially announced yet but I'm on a bit of a makeup buying ban and Project 10 Pan sort of thing.  I have to do a massive post about that later.

Meanwhile, here are things that I have purchased before deciding on the aforementioned commitments.  OCC had this really awesome set on sale for Valentine's Day.  I've never tried lip tars before, and as a set, they were much cheaper than if I were to purchase them each individually ($50 as opposed to $67).  I also threw in a white lip tar for mixing purposes.

Lip Tars in Feathered, Harlot, Stalker, Pretty Boy, and Pageant
Pink and Red Glitter

Sephora also had a GWP recently for VIB members featuring a little NARS goodie bag.  Their traincases also dropped from $90 to $59 so I decided it would be a good investment.

The only reason I opted for a pink one was because black and silver seemed kind of boring.  But now seeing this pink one in person, it's a bit too girly for my tastes.  I'm too lazy to return it so I guess I'm stuck with it.

As for the NARS goodie bag, it included a mini Laguna Bronzer, a mini Orgasm illuminator, and a mini eyeshadow primer.  I'm most excited about the illuminator!

I'm sure most of you are curious about the lip tars.  I haven't worn them yet, as I haven't found an appropriate time for it, but I will let you know how it goes!
